2017 was a big year for Psychopathic. It had to be, right? It had “17” right in the name! Here’s some of Psychopathic’s biggest moments from 2017 (in no particular order)!
Lyte releases “Psychopathic Monstar”
Lyte’s first Psychopathic release, “Psychopathic Monstar,” dropped at the 2017 Gathering and showed off his lyricism and flows.
Psychopathic signs Ouija
Ouija made his debut with Psychopathic at the shooting of the Family Love cypher in September. He has since performed at the Juggalo March as well as ICP’s Great Milenko tour.
2017 Gathering of the Juggalos
The Gathering is always epic. This year’s Gathering in Oklahoma City had some bones with the heat and the cops, but shit like “The Wraith” concert, Shaggy 2 Dope’s solo set, and a new compilation double album gave this year more than enough freshness to overcome any staleness. You can hear about my perspective on this year’s GOTJ as an Oklahoma Juggalo on The Murder Mayhem Show podcast.
ICP Reveals “Fearless Fred Fury” at Hallowicked
In 2017, Psychopathic went all out on Hallowicked. With performances from the entire Psychopathic family plus Esham, Vanilla Ice, and more, it was the biggest Hallowicked yet. It also included JCW, movies, gaming, and even games of G.H.O.S.T. (aka H.O.R.S.E.) with Psychopathic all stars! But perhaps the most enticing thing of all was the much anticipated revealing of ICP’s 4th Joker’s Card of the second deck: Fearless Fred Fury!
“Carnival of Carnage” Show
On August 26, 2017, ICP performed a special one time only concert of the “Carnival of Carnage” album. The ticket sales went toward funding a documentary about the former 3rd member of ICP, Shaggy’s brother John Kickjazz. John quit ICP just before the release of Carnival of Carnage, and died in 2015. For this concert, Shaggy’s younger brother Tre Pound filled in for John, and they even opened the show with a performance of “Dog Beats”. Fresh.
“Fuck The Fuck Off Mother Fucker”
This year saw the release of Shaggy 2 Dope’s second solo LP and third album in his “Fuck Off” series. Produced by Shaggy and DJ Clay, FTFOMF delivered some classic old school hip hop style infused with that hard core wicked shit. An instant classic.
“Juggalo Love” Cypher
In one epic cypher, the whole squad (minus ABK) delivers some of the fiercest rhymes of their careers. This one is worth it for Violent J’s verse alone, but the whole crew came through to blow back wigs right off your face.
The Rise and Fall of Psychopathic U.K. Told on “The Juggalo Show”
In 2003, Psychopathic attempted to establish a European branch of Psychopathic Records. On the November 9, 2017 edition of Psychopathic TV’s “The Juggalo Show,” Jumpsteady and the former Europathic crew dissected how it flopped on its ass.
Juggalo Day 2017
With Psychopathic forced to make some last minute changes to Juggalo Day 2017, they delivered epic performances of “Tunnel of Love” and “The Amazing Jeckel Brothers” in St. Petersburg, Florida. Also on the bill were ABK, Lyte, and JCW.
Dark Carnival Games Convention
From April 21 to April 23, Psychopathic hosted the first Dark Carnival Games con. Held in Michigan, the DCG con featured games of all sorts; board games, card games, video games, trivia games, and even sumo wrestling! Though this the first, Jumpsteady has stated his aim to make it a yearly event.
Big Ballas 2017
2017’s annual Big Ballas concert was held in Nashville, TN, and featured the entire Psychopathic family, plus JCW and a toy drive. I wonder how the annual MS-13 toy drive went? Oh wait…
ICP’s “The Great Milenko” Tour
ICP commemorated 20 years of “The Great Milenko” with a special 2 disc anniversary reissue of the album, as well as a full tour where they performed Milenko from start to finish. As an extra fresh bonus, this tour also featured Lyte, Ouija, and RA The Rugged Man on his first tour performing for the Juggalos. You can hear more about my experience at the “Great Milenko” tour on The Murder Mayhem Show podcast.
DJ Clay’s “The SideWayZ Room” Mixtape
DJ Clay showed off his mixing and cutting skills in a mixtape he called “The SideWayZ Room”. It features some gnarly remixes and original music, including chopped and mixed and cutted and bitch slapped remixes of ICP classics. You can download “The SideWayZ Room” here.
Canadian Juggalo Weekend
The first Canadian Juggalo Weekend featured performances by Swollen Members, Kung-Fu Vampire, Ice-T, Onyx, 2 Live Crew, Big Hoodoo, and ICP. It doesn’t get much better than that.
ICP Headlines at Hemp Fest
ICP headlined the 4th annual Las Vegas Hemp Fest, which featured three stages and thirty different acts!
ICP Introduces Tech N9ne on “Strictly Strange” Concert in Detroit
ICP and Tech N9ne had a bit of a rocky start to 2017, so it was all the more epic when a month later ICP made a surprise appearance on Tech N9ne’s “Strictly Strange” tour to introduce Tech and Krizz personally! Lyte and DJ Clay were also in the house, making the message even more clear that Psychopathic and Strange ride together hard.
Juggalo March on Washington D.C.
September 16, 2017 had to be the most epic event in Psychopathic history. Not only was the march itself incredible, but Psychopathic lined up a full day of speakers, testimonials, and performances. Closing out the evening was a full on Insane Clown Posse show right in the National Mall, complete with Faygo. You can hear more about my experience at the Juggalo March on The Murder Mayhem Show podcast.
It seems like Psychopathic outdoes themselves every year, so let’s see what they have in store for 2018! Shout out to Faygoluvers, because that is where I pulled most of these images and dates.
